AstraZeneca – Restaurant and Office Building

The 8,350 sq.m building was constructed in 16 months using an AstraZeneca-led alliance system. This involved close team working between contractors, designers, client and users. Austin provided Architectural, Structural, Drainage and Engineering design services with ‘on-site’ support during the construction through to handover.

AstraZeneca – PR&D Fit-Out

The PR&D facility for AstraZeneca is a 12,000 sq.m building providing four floors of research laboratories, office space and meeting rooms for the Process Research and Development functions.

Design and construct a new 7,000m2 IPS building that met regulatory compliance as part of a coordinated site vision and master plan study for PAR&D Investigation Products (IPS).

AstraZeneca – Building 310: Laboratory Fit-Out

AstraZeneca invited Austin to discuss the redevelopment of 3,600m2 of existing laboratory facilities at Building 310, Cambridge Science Park. The existing building comprised scientific accommodation and associated plantroom located alongside an atrium and two floors of office accommodation. This was to be refurbished to provide accommodation for 140 scientists from a range of research groups.

Anglia Ruskin University – David Building

Anglia Ruskin University commissioned Austin initially to produce a feasibility study and then to develop the full design for the new Multifunction Teaching Laboratory. This project involved the retrofitting of teaching and office space in a 1960s building to create new laboratory facilities, with innovative solutions to get the most out of limited space to create 21st century flexible, multi-functional teaching laboratories for a variety of sciences.

Afton Chemical Limited

Austin were requested to develop a preliminary design to ascertain the most appropriate way to replace the HVAC system with minimal disruption. Austin improved diversity and utilisation of the fume cupboards and LEV systems at Afton Chemical Limited facility.

The new building is part of the Institute of Biological Environmental and Rural Services (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University. It provides the focus and new reception for the research community housed in a number of adjacent buildings. It also provides a physical link to three existing primary research and support buildings.

The new building is part of the Institute of Biological Environmental and Rural Services (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University. The building incorporates a new reception and the focus for the IBERS research and teaching facility situated in a number of existing adjacent buildings.

This project provided 3M with the opportunity to fulfil a strategic decision to remodel the interior of their Pharmaceutics Pilot Plant Building, while allowing production to be maintained without disruption.
