Lab balconies – A New Direction in Design

Austin has developed an exciting new lab concept, offering improved Flexibility at no extra cost, in response to a challenge from the UK R&D Consortium. All aspects of Flexibility, i.e. ‘versatility’, ‘convertibility’ and ‘expandability’, are compared against a traditional lab concept. The ‘no extra cost’ requirement is demonstrated as achievable depending on a Client’s operational needs. However, the Total Life Cost potential savings are such that the approach should be a new, ‘first step’ response to those Clients seeking to deal with future change more cost-effectively.
