BIM Retrofit, Our Journey

Over the last 2+ years Austin has developed several projects using BIM. More recently we have completed the fit-out of a new shell and core office building to a laboratory facility for a leading Biopharma company.

We have been debating the BIM implementation and benefits with several professional bodies. The Institution of Engineering and Technology based in Savoy Place, London, have asked Austin to present a case study on the subject and our experience. They will be inviting clients and professionals to hear about the challenges encountered, lessons learned from those responsible for both the design and the installation of the system.

It has transpired, from discussions we’ve had with some of our clients, that some are well on their way to implementing BIM with their projects and across their estate. For others, its value is still being questioned and the task of embracing BIM may seem rather daunting. With this in mind and to encourage a forum for discussion, we will be joined by others, most notably ‘clients’, to provide the view from their end of the telescope about the use of BIM.

If you would like to attend or feel this might be relevant to a colleague please register your/their interest at the IET. In parallel we, will also ensure you/your colleague/s are included on the guest list if you let us know.
